Exploring TACOcentric in Kentville: A Tasty Adventure

My husband and I first noticed TACOcentric during the Pumpkin People Scavenger Hunt in October 2024. Two months later, we finally made the trip. Instead of grabbing fast food while running errands, we decided to try something new. And wow, am I glad we did!

Trip Overview

  • Destination: TACOcentric
  • Location: Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Distance from Halifax: ~100 km (1 hour 20 minutes)
  • Best Time to Visit: Weekdays or off-peak meal times
  • Parking: Street parking nearby or at the Independent grocery store lot

First Impressions & Experience

The moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with smiles. They were happy to recommend their best taco and burrito combos. I loved that they use local ingredients, giving their food a true Nova Scotian touch. A bonus? They let me mix and match different meats for my tacos—so I got to try more flavors in one meal!

The portions were generous, the flavours were bold, and they didn’t hold back on the fillings. Finally—a taco place that doesn’t skimp!

But TACOcentric isn’t just about great food. They also support the community. At the counter, I noticed they were selling socks where, for every pair bought, three pairs were donated to Open Arms Resource Centre. Of course, I had to grab a pair of taco socks—how could I not?

They also have a Pay-It-Forward meal board. Customers can buy an extra meal for someone in need. It’s a small act of kindness that makes a big difference. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a business with heart.

What Surprised Me?

We arrived at a quiet time, but within minutes, the place was full. If you want a relaxed dine-in experience, visit outside peak hours. Or grab takeout and enjoy your meal at one of the Valley’s many scenic spots.
